About Biodiversity Act
The year 2010 had long been seen as an end goal, a time when we could look back and say, yes, we’ve done it — that biodiversity, life on Earth, is no longer threatened.
Matter of fact is that rate of loss of biodiversity have remained unchanged since 2002 when early goals were set.
The year 2010 is critical because it is time to enable the paradigm shift, to build upon knowledge and using experience, intelligence and foresight to address the way we tackle environmental issues.
It means bridging the gap between , society, science and policymakers in governments in Cyprus. It means linking livelihoods, planning development and new infrastructures to ensure sustainability.
The Cyprus Biodiversity Act is a proactive initiative to significantly impact climatic change while exercising a democratic right for social compromise that will help the understanding and progress of culture and science in our modern society. We realize that 500.000 trees is a small commitment for a global challenge, but we have ambitious plans and we would love for you to take with us this first step.
Help us achieve our challenge of bringing 500,000 people to say YES to more trees to be planted in Cyprus.
