The amount of debt is still manageable and the company can in fact be saved by privatizing it in a multidimensional spiderred structure. By this I mean :

A full MBO (Mamagement Buy Out by the employees of the company that become the main shareholder group)is necessary in order to control better the company :

Lower Cost since staff will take care of the shares by maintaining operative cost low.

Better Service Quality.

Higher dividend distribution when company profitable for the shareholders.

Fewer number of flights but carrying more passengers and linking/combining new or existing destinations with other bigger companies in connecting airports will also increase the connections to Cyprus.

Privatizing one third of the company to :

Local and destination hotel property association since it will be bring business to their hotel plus it is a promotional tool with direct results.

Duty frees in airport are also interest in taking part in this business strategically positioning the gates of departure next to their stores.

Internet and traditional travel agencies since they can make a higher margin of profit by also owning a part of the company

And most important of all, a crude oil company provider such as REPSOL (example SPAIN) with the guarantee to have a publicity on the body of the plane as the exclusive provider of the planes. The fuel will be less costly for the company and the "REPSOL" will have in addition to a new client a share in the profit of the company.

Once all this conditions are met and the financial health state of the company is recovered, the company can proceed with an IPO (initial public offering) and launching the company in the stock market following the model of other companies such as Easyjet and Ryanair. It is only then that public can buy shares and neutralize the political influence of the presents servants that are managing the company currently.
